Xepto Learning Ecosystem showcased in presidential visit, drives up standardized test scores in Bataan schools

May 5, 2026

Bataan, Philippines — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited Mariveles National High School – Cabcaben Annex (Alasasin) on March 19, 2026, an event that highlighted the use of the Xepto Learning Ecosystem as part of ongoing efforts to improve learning outcomes in public schools. Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara and Bataan Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III accompanied the president in inspecting the newly installed prefabricated classrooms and the turnover of learning tablets by the Provincial Government of Bataan to the school.

During the visit, the President observed how schools in Bataan are using the Xepto Learning Management System (XLMS) alongside Achieve3000, a literacy platform powered by McGraw Hill, to deliver structured instruction, assess student performance, monitor teaching activity, and enable targeted interventions.

The initiative is being implemented province-wide, powered by 9,660 tablets deployed across 66 public junior high schools in Bataan. At Mariveles National High School – Cabcaben Annex, 300 tablets were provided to Grade 7 students to support literacy development through Achieve3000, which can be accessed and monitored in the Xepto Learning Management System.

The full Xepto learning ecosystem — including the Xepto LMS and Achieve3000 — integrates lesson delivery, assessment, and performance tracking into a single platform. Teachers can create structured courses, administer both online and offline assessments, and access near real-time data on student performance. This allows schools to move beyond one-size-fits-all instruction and implement targeted interventions based on actual learning gaps.

“We witnessed a leap in the average student score in the Unified Examination across Bataan schools. Scores improved by 10% in the Third Quarter Grading of the School Year 2025-2026 compared to the Second Quarter,” cited Raymart Rosario, Local School Board Learning Facilitator at Mariveles National High School – Cabcaben Annex. “At the same time, the use of XLMS has reduced the workload for teachers. Exam preparation time decreased from approximately three hours to just 34 minutes.”

Schools implementing Achieve3000 have reported steady improvements in reading proficiency, with students progressing in their Lexile levels through continuous assessment and differentiated instruction. Students recorded an average increase of five Lexile levels within a month, with the highest individual gain reaching 81 levels.

Lexile levels are a standardized measure of reading ability, used to match students with text that are appropriately challenging— enabling consistent progress and making improvements in literacy both visible and measurable.

These gains reflect a broader shift from fragmented interventions to a more standardized, data-driven approach to learning. Teachers can intervene earlier and more precisely, while school leaders gain clearer insights to guide decision-making.

“The deployment in Bataan demonstrates how a unified learning ecosystem customized for Philippine schools — supported by infrastructure, content, and data and led by good managers — can strengthen the capacity of schools to deliver consistent instruction and improve student performance at scale,” said Paco Sandajas, Founder and CEO of Xepto Education. “As educators and advocates of education, we commit to continue assisting our schools in building a strong pipeline of students who are better prepared for higher education, employment, and to become contributors to national development.”
